Increases and decreases at the pumps

It's a mix of increases and decreases this week in fuel prices.

The price of gas is down 2.3 cents. On the Island, Diesel is up by 2 cents per litre, in western Labrador diesel dropped 0.9 cents.

The cost of furnace oil increased by 1.70 cents. Stove oil heating fuel on the Island decreased by 0.73 cents while stove oil in western Labrador decreased by 0.89 cents.

Propane heating fuel jumped by 0.3 cents.

The winter blend for diesel motor fuel and furnace oil heating fuel on the Island is phased in to reflect seasonal changes in the product. These product changes are necessary to maintain fuel efficiency and pourability in colder temperatures.

Throughout October the product blend reflected in maximum prices for diesel motor fuel and furnace oil heating fuel is changed over the course of several weeks to reduce the Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel component.
