Income support payments delayed

Many income support clients across the province have not received their payments today.

The payments were set to be distributed today to financial institutions but many have not received payments.

There are hundreds of people contacting income support. No statement has been released as to the cause of the delay.

In a statement from the Department of Children, Seniors and Social Development reads, "the April 1, 2023 Income Support direct deposit payments will be issued on Saturday, April 1, 2023, and people in receipt of Income Support can expect to receive their payments on that date."
