Impaired driver arrested in western Labrador

Shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, RNC officers conducting patrols in Labrador City stopped a driver for speeding on Route 500 near the landfill.

While speaking with the driver, the officer noticed signs of alcohol impairment and administered a roadside screening device, which the driver failed.

The driver was then conveyed to the detachment where they provided samples of their breath, resulting in a reading over the legal limit. As a result, the driver was issued a license suspension, their vehicle was seized, and they were released to appear in court at a later date.
