Impaired driver arrested at Bell Island ferry terminal

The RNC arrested a 58-year-old female after responding to a report of an impaired driver at the Bell Island ferry terminal in Portugal Cove.

At 7:08 pm on Saturday night, officers responded and located the vehicle.

The operator was believed to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for impaired driving and later charged with impaired driving and impaired over .80.

The female was given a future court date but remained in custody until she was sober.
