Holyrood Fire Department were called to the top of Green Acres just before 7:00 a.m. on Monday morning for reports of a structure fire.
Crews arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the right side of the property. The fire progressed into a cargo van along with what appeared to be a trailer and a forest area located in the rear of the property. Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire in the trees before it could proceed further into the wooded area.
A short time later, Holyrood Fire Department requested a mutual aid request from Harbour Main-Chapel's Cove-Lakeview fire department and Avondale Fire Department. A Mutual aid request is when emergency services pool resources to help one another.
It is unknown at this time if there were any injuries as a result of the fire. Traffic at the top of Green Acres was closed as crews worked to shuttle water.
