Historic property destroyed by fire in St. John's

A historic property in St. John's has been destroyed by fire.

A call came in around 3:00 am that there was a fire at Bryn Mawr Cottage on New Cove Road.

Several fire units and the RNC responded to the structure fire.

For several hours the intersection of Portugal Cove Road at New Cove Road was closed.

The fire was out by 6:00 am and the scene was turned over to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.
