Happy Valley-Goose Bay Student Wins Prestigious Heritage Award

A youth from Happy Valley-Goose Bay is one of 16 recipients who will participate in the 2023 Beaverbrook Vimy Prize supported by The Beaverbrook Canadian Foundation.

The program provides youth, ages 15 to 17 from Canada, the United Kingdom, and France, the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of those who shaped history, and aims to promote international cooperation.

Grace Goudie was chosen to participate in the educational program.

Goudie along with 15 other students from across Canada, France and the United Kingdom will travel across Europe from August 13 to August 22.

The 9-day program includes daily visits to important sites, museums, cemeteries and historic battlefields from the First and Second World Wars in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
