Hamilton Avenue to close for road rehabilitation

Hamilton Avenue between Sudbury Street and Alexander Street will be closed beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8, as the City of St. John’s carries out road rehabilitation work.

The closure is expected to remain in place for approximately two weeks, with the road closed daily between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Motorists will be detoured via Water Street and are encouraged to use alternate routes and avoid the area where possible.

Drivers are asked to follow posted signage, barricades and directions from workers on site. Alternative pedestrian routes will also be provided.

The City of St. John’s apologized for any inconvenience caused by the work.
