Halloween Safety Tips

Make sure that your Halloween is safe. We've compiled some tips to make it easy!

Regardless of where you live, please follow local public health guidelines.

Ensure that costumes are made in light-coloured or reflective material. That way drivers will be able to easily spot your child.

Costumes should fit properly. By making sure the costume fits properly, it is less likely that your child will trip and fall.

This is Newfoundland and Labrador, it gets cold here. Dress your child for the weather.

Put your child’s name, address and phone number on their costume.

Children should be accompanied by an adult for trick or treating.

Keep in mind that gum and hard candy can pose a choking risk for young children.

Check all candy before allowing a child to consume it.
