Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP investigating fatal collision on Trans-Canada Highway

Police in Grand Falls-Windsor are investigating after a motor vehicle collision on Friday afternoon resulted in the death of one driver on the Trans-Canada Highway.
Shortly after 3:30 p.m. on August 15, police responded to a report of a collision between an SUV and a tractor-trailer on the TCH in Grand Falls-Windsor.
Members of the Grand Falls-Windsor Fire Department, municipal enforcement officers and emergency medical services personnel were also engaged in the response.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was extracted by fire and emergency medical services crews. He was transported to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
A Collision Reconstructionist with RCMP Traffic Services attended the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has also been engaged.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
