Earlier this week the Grand Falls-Windsor Fire Department received a new pumper truck.
The new truck replaces a 32-year-old pumper truck.
This pumper truck was tendered in late 2019 and was supposed to be delivered in 2021 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was delayed.
It was funded through a partnership with the town and the provincial government.
This new truck is set up for rapid-fire attack with the ability to pump over 1000 gallons of water per minute, with a water-carrying capacity of 1000 gallons and quick access to needed equipment. The enclosed cab houses six firefighters.
