Government signs memorandum of agreement with Medical Association


The Provincial Government has signed a memorandum of agreement with the Medical Association.


Under the agreement, the government will provide $35 million per annum in new funding to help improve physician services in the province.


The agreement covers over 1,300 salaried, alternate payment plan and fee-for-service physicians in the province.


Highlights of the agreement include Atlantic parity for physicians, a bonus program for remote sites and a provincial locum recruitment program. The agreement can be viewed here. (external link)
