The Department of Forestry, Agriculture and Lands is looking for public feedback on a proposed 20-year Forest Management Agreement with Sexton Lumber Company, which includes issuing a 20-year Crown Timber Licence to the company.

The company has requested to enter into a 20-year Forest Management Agreement with the province for a non-exclusive area of forest in central Newfoundland.

The agreement would offer Sexton Lumber the security of a long-term timber supply and enable the company to invest in its sawmill infrastructure and the timber resource.

Members of the public are invited to learn more about the proposal and provide feedback through the EngageNL platform. The consultation is open until July 24. Consultation sessions will also be held with key stakeholder groups.
