Government awards two fish processing licenses
The provincial government has announced that fish processing licenses have been provided to two communities.
Licenses have been awarded to Mary’s Bay Fisheries and Dandy Dan’s Fish Market in Argentia.
Mary's Bay Fisheries will be able to process groundfish (all species), whelk and snow crab. The snow crab licence will be restricted to purchase of raw material not exceeding 2.5 million pounds in round weight form.
Dandy Dan’s Fish Market will be permitted an increase in purchasing of snow crab from one million pounds per year to two million pounds per year.
