Government awards contract to construct six homes in Corner Brook

Today, Minister Responsible for Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation John Abbott has announced that a contract has been awarded to Brook Construction to begin construction on six homes in Corner Brook.

The contract, valued at $2.6 million, will cover the construction of six new one-bedroom homes.

The new building will feature three second-level and three ground-level units. One ground-level unit will be fully accessible, with level no-step entry and a fully wheelchair accessible kitchen and bathroom. All units will include universal design features such as widened exterior and interior doors and hallways, lever-type door handles and faucets.

It is expected that construction will start in the coming weeks, with a completion deadline of July 2026.
