Glovertown RCMP Arrest Man for Theft of Vehicle #nltraffic

The RCMP in Glovertown arrested a 32-year-old man from Mount Pearl last Friday after attempting to steal a work van from a property located off the Trans-Canada Highway, near Glovertown and Gambo.

Police received a report of a vehicle theft in progress on Friday afternoon.

A man returned home to find an unknown man stealing his work van. The homeowner confronted the man before he could take off in the van and the suspect then took off on foot heading towards the TCH.

Shortly after, police located the man and arrested him for theft of a motor vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the man was breaching two other court orders and he faces additional charges for breaching probation and operating a motor vehicle while prohibited. He was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.

There was no damage to the vehicle.
