Funding Available for Heritage Maintenance and Conservation in St. John's

St. John's John’s is now accepting applications for maintenance or conservation funding for those who own a house or commercial property in a Heritage Area or if you own a designated Heritage Building.
Since the incentive program began in 2016, over $435,000 in grant funding has been approved by council.
There are two types of grants available. The first is the Heritage Maintenance Grant which provides up to 25 per cent of the material and labour costs to a maximum of $1,000 for maintenance and repair to façade elements bordering a public street.
Second is the Heritage Conservation Grant which provides up to 25 per cent of the material and labour costs to a maximum of $5,000 for the preservation, restoration and/or replacement of façade elements bordering a public street.
Applications will be accepted until May 1.
