The Provincial Government is reminding the public that the Working Opportunities Program is accepting candidates who are interested in beginning their studies this September.
Under the program, residents can receive financial support if they are not eligible for E.I., including those receiving Income Support, to pursue full-time post-secondary training.
Those interested are encouraged to begin exploring funded training options since it takes a number of weeks for applicants to complete the steps required to be accepted into the program. This includes assessing skills, helping to find employment paths, and identifying how education will overcome barriers to these goals.
The program offers supports that may include tuition and training costs, a living allowance and child care. Eligible training must begin within Newfoundland and Labrador and be between 12 weeks and three years in length at a public or private training institution.
