Fuel prices increased across most of the province on Thursday after the Public Utilities Board implemented another unscheduled adjustment in response to recent commodity market developments.

Gasoline prices rose by up to 7.0 cents per litre. Diesel motor fuel on the Island increased by up to 12.3 cents per litre, while diesel prices in western Labrador climbed by 12.9 cents per litre.

Furnace oil heating fuel on the Island went up by 10.66 cents per litre. In western Labrador, stove oil heating fuel increased by 11.22 cents per litre.

No extraordinary adjustments were made for propane heating fuel.

The Board said the latest changes followed a significant rise in market prices on March 24. This came just one day after maximum prices were adjusted on March 25 using an average of March 23 market data.

According to the Board, the sharp increase in commodity prices required an additional extraordinary adjustment to reflect current market conditions.

The next regularly scheduled fuel price adjustment was set for Friday, March 27, 2026.
