Fuels are up again today.
Gas is up another 2.6 cents per litre. On the Island, diesel increased by 2.7 cents while diesel in western Labrador went up by 0.7 cents.
Furnace oil heating fuel on the Island increased by 2.35 cents, and stove oil heating fuel in western Labrador went up by 0.01 cents.
The Government of Canada recently announced amendments to the Excise Tax Act to temporarily suspend the application of the Federal Excise Tax on gasoline and diesel motor fuels effective April 20, 2026.
As a result, the Board’s next price adjustment for gasoline and diesel motor fuels will be on Monday. Since the Federal Excise Tax does not apply to heating fuels, the Board’s next price adjustment for furnace oil and stove oil heating fuels will be on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
