Fuel prices increased across Newfoundland and Labrador.

The board said the increases reflected recent shifts in global commodity markets, along with the completion of seasonal spring blending for diesel and furnace oil.

Gasoline prices rose by up to 2.5 cents per litre. Diesel motor fuel on the Island increased by up to 1.0 cent per litre, while diesel prices in western Labrador climbed by 1.6 cents per litre.

Furnace oil heating fuel on the Island went up by 0.82 cents per litre. In western Labrador, stove oil heating fuel increased by 1.51 cents per litre.

The Public Utilities Board noted that spring blending for Island diesel motor fuel and furnace oil had now been completed, a seasonal adjustment that can impact pricing.
