Friday Forecast: Cool Along the Coast, Summer Warmth Returns to Labrador

Friday will bring a sharp contrast in temperatures across Newfoundland and Labrador, with the warmest conditions found across western and central Labrador while much of the Island remains cool under cloudy and showery skies.

In Labrador, sunshine will help temperatures climb into the mid-20s across the west. Labrador City is forecast to reach 24°C, while Churchill Falls tops out near 25°C. Happy Valley-Goose Bay is expected to be the warmest location at 26°C, although showers are indicated. Farther north, cooler conditions persist with a mix of sun and cloud and highs of 15°C in Nain and 10°C in Hopedale. Mary's Harbour will remain much cooler with showers and a high of just 9°C.

Across Newfoundland, showers are expected for most areas. Afternoon highs will reach 19°C in Corner Brook, 17°C in Port Saunders and Grand Falls-Windsor, 16°C in Port aux Basques and Marystown, 15°C in Gander, 14°C in St. John's and 13°C in St. Anthony.
