Four people displaced following house fire in Mount Pearl on Monday Evening

Four people and a dog have been displaced following a house fire in Mount Pearl on Monday evening.

Firefighters got the call at around 6:20 p.m. on Monday for a report of a residential structure fire on Burrage Avenue in Mount Pearl.

When crews arrived on scene smoke and flames were visible and coming out the window of the home. Firefighters used a sledgehammer to gain access to the home. Where crews made quick work locating and knocking down the blaze that was contained to the kitchen.

The home suffered extensive fire damage and had some smoke and water damage, the fire is believed to have started in the kitchen area it is unknown what the cause of the fire was.

Four people were displaced along with and dog no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
