Four-Bag Limit for Curbside Garbage

In January of this year, the City of St. John's approved a new, comprehensive Sanitation Regulations Bylaw that outlines the proper disposal of residential waste in St. John’s.

These new regulations support and advance Council's strategic goal to divert more waste from the landfill.

For households that do not have a City-issued garbage cart the maximum number of garbage bags that can be put out for collection is now four regular-sized bags.

There is no limit on the number of recycling blue bags that can be placed at the curb for collection.
