Former Lieutenant Governor Ed Roberts has passed away

Former Lieutenant Governor and politician Ed Roberts has passed away.

He served as the 11th Lieutenant Governor for Newfoundland and Labrador from 2002 until 2008.

Roberts was also a Cabinet Minister for a number of departments including Health, Public Welfare and Justice, and also served as the province’s Attorney General.

He was invested as a Member of the Order of Canada in 2010.

The flags at all Provincial Government buildings will be lowered to half-mast until sunset on the day of the funeral.
