After a lengthy investigation, RCMP in Placentia has charged 51-year-old Elizabeth Roche of Freshwater with fraud over $5000.00 and forgery.

Roche was the president of the Placentia and Area Community Food Bank.

Police were alerted to suspected fraudulent activities back in March of 2019 and opened an investigation.

Officers found that numerous financial documents had been forged between 2012-2019 with misappropriation of funds totalling more than $40,0000.00.

On May 11, 2021, Roche was arrested and charged with forgery and fraud over $5000.00.

She was released from custody and is set to attend court in Placentia on August 25, 2021.
