Flu numbers continue to rise
The Public Health Agency of Canada says that influenza cases continue to rise across the country as Canada grapples with an influenza epidemic.
Eastern Health and Central Health are reporting localized numbers of influenza while Western Health and Labrador-Grenfell Health are reporting sporadic cases.
This week there were 9,855 laboratory detections of influenza A and influenza B with most cases being influenza A.
Across Canada, the weekly number of pediatric hospitalizations being reported is above levels typically seen at the peak of the influenza season.
