On Saturday evening, an Air Canada flight operated by PAL Airlines encountered an issue while landing at Halifax Stanfield International Airport.
The aircraft skidded along the runway, and a portion of it caught fire during the incident.
Flight 2259 had departed earlier from St. John’s International Airport.
All passengers and crew were safely deplaned and promptly transported off the airfield. While some minor injuries were reported, there were no serious injuries.
The airfield was temporarily closed following the incident. However, a runway was cleared, allowing regular operations to resume shortly afterward. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
