Five New Dialysis Machines being added to Western Memorial Regional Hospital

The province is providing $103,000 in funding for five new dialysis machines at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook.
A dialysis machine replaces the work of a person’s kidneys to clear waste and fluid from the body. Adding five more dialysis machines at Western Memorial Regional Hospital will allow greater flexibility for NL Health Services in scheduling treatments to meet operational needs and accommodate patients’ needs.
Minister of Health and Community Services John Hogan said, “We’re excited about the addition of five new dialysis machines and what it means for health care in our province. Adding new machines to Western Memorial Regional Hospital will ensure people who need dialysis will get the necessary patient care and enable better health outcomes for the patient. We look forward to when the new machines are operational.”
