Firearm Safety and Hunter Education Deadline Dates Extended

The Firearms Safety – Hunter Education training courses required for eligibility to enter the licence draw for the 2021-22 big game hunting season are set to resume this coming weekend.

Both courses are required to be permitted to hunt with a firearm in Newfoundland and Labrador.

As a result of COVID-19 related delays to scheduled general course offerings and start-up of fall sessions, the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture is extending the Firearms Safety – Hunter Education training course completion date for new applicants entering the 2021 big game licence draw from November 30, 2020 to January 30, 2021.

Interested individuals are encouraged to contact the College of the North Atlantic for additional course and registration information by calling 1-888-982-2268 or emailing corporatetraining@cna.nl.ca.
