Firearm Safety and Hunter Education Course Deadline Dates Extended

The Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture has extended the deadline date for the completion of the Firearms Safety–Hunter Education training course that is required for new applicants wishing to enter the big game licence draw for 2022-2023.

The deadline date has been changed from November 30, 2021 to January 30, 2022 due to delays.

Completion of the Firearms Safety–Hunter Education training courses is required to be certified to hunt with a firearm or archery equipment in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Courses are presently being offered at select College of the North Atlantic campuses, and other locations throughout the province.
