Fire destroys commercial truck, causes extensive smoke damage at Paradise Town Hall on Sunday

On Sunday, shortly before 4:30 p.m, Firefighters with the St John's Regional Fire Department (SJRFD) along with NL Health Services (NLHS) and Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) responded to a reported commercial structure fire at the Paradise Town Hall on McNamara Drive.

When SJRFD Firefighters arrived, they found heavy thick black smoke billowing from open garage doors, on both sides of the building. Fire crews quickly deployed attack lines and established a supply line to attack the blaze, while firefighters were making there way, to fight the blaze it was determined that it was a large commercial truck that was on fire in the garage and the cause of the fire quickly filled the garage bays and office area of the building.

At this time, it's unclear if any fire made it's way to the interior of the offices but there was significant smoke damage reported.

There were no injuries reported in this incident, and the fire is under investigation.
