Fire causes extensive damage to a residence in the east end of St. John's on Wednesday night.
Firefighters with the St. John's Regional Fire Department (SJRFD) were called to the residence, which was located on Newfoundland Drive between Torbay Road and Oderin Place, after reports of smoke coming from the front of the home.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, just minutes later, they found moderate thick smoke billowing from the front of the residence, firefighters quickly deployed attack lines and established a supply line to attack the fire with a interior attack. It took fire crews roughly forty-five minutes to extinguish the blaze and the remaining hotspots that were left.
