FFAW: MOU to Advance Wind Energy Cannot Be at Expense of Fishing Industry

The FFAW is dismayed at the news from the provincial and federal governments announcing a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at expediting wind energy development in the province.

The Union is calling for a clear commitment from the Provincial Government that priority will be given during the regulatory process to consult with affected industries, particularly the fishing industry, and to ask for clarifications on other issues.

FFAW-Unifor is concerned that the announcement will rush the consultation process without ensuring that affected industries are considered.
