FFAW holding press conference today

The FFAW will hold a press conference today at 11:00 am at the Comfort Inn Airport Hotel in St. John's.

At the conference, the union will call for Minister Joyce Murray to reopen the Atlantic Mackerel fishery this year.

FFAW-Unifor President Greg Pretty, Inshore Vice-President Tony Doyle, and FFAW-Unifor Science Director, Dr. Erin Carruthers along with mackerel harvesters Trevor Jones and Robbie Green will be in attendance.

The FFAW says that DFO is "willfully underestimating" the biomass for the Atlantic Mackerel stock.
