Federal investment paves way for new park amenities and trail in Pasadena

The shoreline along Glide Path Road in Pasadena is set to receive new amenities, a trail and erosion protection following an investment of more than $300,000 from the federal government.

The project includes a new trail linking South Brook Point with Pasadena Beach. The trail will provide scenic views of Deer Lake and include a viewing area, benches, signage and a pergola.

More than 75 metres of shoreline will also be protected from erosion through the installation of armour stone.

Construction is slated to begin in early September 2026.

“The shoreline along Glide Path Road is an important part of the community in Pasadena,” said Fisheries Minister and St. John’s East MP Joanne Thompson.

“This work protects more than 75 metres of it from erosion and adds a trail linking South Brook Point to Pasadena Beach, with benches and a viewing area looking out over the lake.”

Thompson said the project will provide residents and visitors with new opportunities to enjoy the outdoors while helping protect the shoreline from weather-related erosion.

“By investing in infrastructure that improves and protects our communities, our government is building Newfoundland and Labrador strong,” she said.
