Federal government expected to extend gas tax break

Newfound News has learned that the federal government will extend the federal fuel tax on gasoline and diesel until 2027.

An official announcement is expected today.

The pause, which was set to expire on Labour Day, was put in place due to rising prices due to the war between the United States and Iran.

The price amounted to ten cents on gas and four cents on diesel.
