Evacuation Zone expanded in wildfire zone in Adam’s Cove

A wildfire continues to burn out of control in the Town of Small Point, Broad Cove, Blackhead, Adam's Cove.

A state of emergency remains in effect.

The RCMP has closed the road at Blackhead Brook and is evacuating residents from Blackhead Brook North. Not all of Blackhead is being evacuated at this time.

The Salem community centre is open and available to any and all residents who need any assistance. An official from the town hopes to have a remote Starlink site available at that location for communication in the next few hours.

The Evacuation Centre at Persalvic has counsellors available on site.
