Emergency services respond to electrical fire on Bell Island Ferry, early Thursday afternoon

The Portugal Cove-St Philips Fire Department responded to report of an electrical fire at one of the Bell Island Ferrys, this afternoon.

Fire crews received the call for service at around 2:00 p.m. and when crews arrived on the scene they were advised that a electrical fire had started in the engine room of the ferry.

The ferry will remain out of service till all the issues are resolved.

There were no reported injuries following this incident.
