Eight people displaced and four pets deceased following house fire in St. John’s on Tuesday

Eight people have been displaced, and four pets have died following a house fire in Shea Heights on Tuesday.
Firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department were called to a home on Horlick Avenue after multiple people in the area called 911 reporting a house fire. Firefighters from West End fire station were first to arrive on scene and found the house fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters did an initial sweep through the home to make sure no residents were inside the home at the time of the fire. Luckily, no residents were found inside.
Throughout the incident, firefighters found two dogs and two cats that were deceased inside the home. Eight people were displaced from their homes as a result of the fire. No people were injured in the fire.
