Driver sent to hospital after vehicle halts just feet from a ponds edge in St. John’s on Sunday

At least one person was sent to hospital after there vehicle came to a stop just feet from the waters edge in St. John’s on Sunday.

Emergency personnel responded to Long Pond near the intersection to Allandale Road and Prince Philip Drive just before 4:20 p.m. on Sunday for reports of a single vehicle collision.

When crews arrived a single vehicle had hopped the median crossing over into oncoming traffic then going over a side walk and down over a bank narrowly missing a tree coming to a stop just feet from the waters edge.

At least one person was taken to hospital after being rescued by emergency personnel from the car. Traffic in the area was disrupted as a tow truck removed the vehicle.
