The RNC were called to a call of unknown trouble in Paradise on Thursday evening.

It was reported that a vehicle had rammed into another vehicle; however, the suspect vehicle had left the scene. While en route to the scene, police located the suspect vehicle that initially stopped for police but then fled when the officer approached the vehicle.

The vehicle and operator were located back at the scene where the driver resisted arrest. The 65-year-old male was charged with assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police, resisting arrest and court order breaches. His license had also expired, and he had over $18,000 in outstanding fines.

He was held to appear in court in the morning. His vehicle was impounded.
