Driver Charged With Drug-Impaired Driving After Vehicle Lands in Ditch in CBS

A 52-year-old man is facing an impaired driving charge after his vehicle left the roadway and entered a ditch in Conception Bay South on Sunday morning.

RNC officers were conducting routine patrols on Anchorage Road at approximately 10:47 a.m. on July 19 when they observed a vehicle veer off the road and into a ditch.

Officers immediately stopped to check on the lone occupant of the vehicle. During their interaction with the driver, police suspected he was impaired by drugs.

Following an investigation, the 52-year-old man was arrested and later released from custody. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to answer to a charge of impaired driving.

Police also impounded the vehicle and suspended the driver's licence as part of the investigation.
