Driver charged after rollover on Topsail Road

A 29-year-old man is facing an impaired driving charge following a single-vehicle rollover on Topsail Road late Sunday night.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to the crash, just west of Commonwealth Avenue, at about 10:55 p.m. on Aug. 30.

The sole occupant of the vehicle was located at the scene and was believed to be impaired by drugs.

The man was taken to hospital, where a blood kit was completed.

He was charged with impaired driving and ticketed for driving without insurance, operating an unregistered vehicle and failing to transfer ownership.

The accused remained in hospital as of Sunday night.
