Driver charged after fatal collision near Jamestown

RCMP has confirmed that one person has died in a fatal collision near Jamestown.
On Sunday police responded to a report of a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck on Route 234.
A 55-year-old man from Lethbridge who was driving a motorcycle died at the scene and police have charged 52-year-old Doug Skiffington of Brooklyn with impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death and impaired driving causing death with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80mg.
Skiffington failed roadside breath tests and was arrested at the site of the collision. He was held in custody overnight for a court appearance.
The highway was closed for over five hours.
The investigation is ongoing.
