Driver arrested after fleeing from police

RNC officers on patrol observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Sunday evening on a residential street in the centre city of St. John’s.

The officer engaged in a pursuit where the vehicle failed to stop. The officer later located the vehicle and driver.

The driver was taken to the City Lockup to appear in court to answer to charges of flight from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

The driver also received summary offence tickets for no insurance and expired registration. The vehicle was impounded.
