Dominion Employees Return to Weston Bakery

Striking Dominion employees resumed their picket at Weston Bakery in Mount Pearl on Thursday.

Chris Macdonald, the assistant to Unifor National President, said, "we won't be moved by Loblaws and we won't be moved by the RNC."

Last week the RNC threatened to arrest striking employees at Weston Bakery.

The union said that they will take legal action against the RNC.

The workers started the legal picket at the bakery, owned by George Weston Ltd., which also operates Dominion’s parent company Loblaw Companies Limited, on Monday, October 26. RNC showed up on Tuesday night and threatened to make arrests.

The workers have been on strike at 11 Dominion stores across Newfoundland since August 22, 2020.
