Detour Established Around Marystown Bridge

Canning Bridge on Route 220 in Marystown has been closed to motorists. The bridge remains safe for pedestrians and cyclists.

Vehicles will detour around the closure via Columbia Drive and Creston Causeway.

The closure comes after recent steel testing on the bridge. The maximum load limit was originally reduced to 10 tonnes in November.

Provincial officials will meet with the town council in Marystown soon to discuss the next steps.
