Delays expected as bridge project gets underway in St. John's

Construction is set to begin on Monday on the Waterford River Bridge at Blackhead Road.

The project will involve concrete rehabilitation works, expansion joint replacements, guide rail repairs, waterproofing and paving of the bridge deck.

While the repairs are ongoing the bridge will remain open to traffic with lane reductions. Work will take place from Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Slowdowns and traffic disruptions are expected.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of August.
