A jury has found Dean Penney guilty of first-degree murder.
The RCMP arrested Penney, the estranged husband of Jennifer Hillier Penney, in 2023.
Hillier-Penney was last seen on November 30, 2016. She was reported missing from the area of Husky Drive in St. Anthony. Her body has still not been found.
In Canada, a conviction for first-degree murder carries a mandatory automatic sentence of life imprisonment, with no eligibility to apply for full parole until the offender has served 25 years of their sentence.
